I feel hopeless about everything, about staying here on Earth after everybody who’s smarter has emigrated…abt twice a month…I think that’s a reasonable amount of time.
Just because some people abuse the idea of “war” as “defense” doesn’t mean that there aren’t things worth fighting for.
This too applies in non-violence, where fighting means putting yourself in harm’s way.
Dedication is a sticktuitiveness that is intuitive for some. Others learn it by experience. But we must all learn it FOR EACH OTHER if we actually wish to survive on this Earth.
THERE IS NO PLAN(ET) B. We will not agree on everything, but we still have to learn to live together.
#Jez3Prez sez: Yr voice is NOT yr vote; yr voice is YR VOICE, and no one can take it away. (Except for laryngitis.)
The feeling down at the Lyric on Election Night was like the Day of the Big Game, and yes I felt it too, but for reasons other than the Presidency, something the People could actually do. At 9:35, MTN time, people exploded at the screen, when they flipped from the Daily Show’s InDecision coverage to MSNBC, where, yes, YES, it was all seriously going down, and Obama was being called the projected winner, and Romney would have to concede.
I found it strange that there wasn’t a more conscious changeover. From laughing at it, haha, it’s all very funny, and suddenly really SERIOUS, like OMG!! All in just a moment…but then it does make sense to me. After all, I’m a nihilist living in a crazy world, what else would I expect, that’s our society!
But before I left, on my way out of the Lyric Cinema Cafe in Main Street America, I heard Romney, the defeated, ask me to continue to Believe…in what? In America! O the joy! O the glee!
"…oh wait, am I supposed to still pay attention?
What are you now? WHO?
Oh you’re nothing?
And there’s absolutely NO REASON to listen to you?
So why should I should pay attention anymore?
Are the cameras still on?
Ohhhhhh, I see.
Sorry I interrupted yr speech to all the disappointed Republicans, who want to move to Canada, but you need to convince to stay put so you can use them to pay taxes, grow green jobs, & feed off their beliefs.
I guess you did probably make them feel like losers, when you set up the all-or-nothing challenge of winning over the entire country.
No, go right ahead and tell us NOW we need to Work Together in order to make things better, to get along with each other, to recognize our interdependency.”
Which prompts the Big Question fr me: WHY is this system rigged up to be a COMPETITION?!
The Two Big Partys
& their rich, corporate financiers
play Monopoly w/ the possibility of real political change
and divide us into one of their teams,
teams most people don’t want to be on in the 1st place,
And they go off to gamble our billions of dollars
in a bet on “the Future of this Great Nation,”
but bet on WHAT exactly?
Getting the Most People to like this One Guy
than they like the Other Guy, who sux almost as much as the first.
Oh yeah…yeah that sounds fun…
Ohhhhh, nevermind, maybe that’s just democratic capitalism at work:
where the People only count in whether they are buying or selling the kinds of Hope & Change that are good for business.
Or maybe better: CONSUMER FASCISM!
The candidates are just different brands of the same commodity: an idea of Progress & a Gov’t that the People need to keep believing in.
Maybe next year we can do it thru Facebook!
I wouldn’t even worry abt all the fake FB accts…it probably would never match all the individuals responsible for voter fraud.
And wouldn’t it just be easier to watch the votes tally themselves up along w/ all yr friends online?
Wouldn’t have to go thru the hassle of waiting in line, let yr vote be transferred offsite, counted by strangers or tallied on a hackable machine…oh wait that sounds horrible…and maybe not all that different…LIKES v. VOTES, I mean, what’s the big difference? They both sound like scores to me.
I wonder why more people don’t get in on this game?
Maybe cuz the Parties are WAY TOO SERIOUS abt winning,
and so its not all that fun for everyone,
especially when it comes to money.
And I suppose they probably wouldn’t want any real competition from the Greens or Libertarians or the Objectivists or Roseanne Barr…
It’s an Effffffffffffffing popularity contest, I tell you!
The election of The People’s Favorite!
These people are desperately trying to be noticed, so you can let them make all the important decisions for you.
HEY! LOOK AT ME!
I HAVE THE BEST IDEAS EVER!
I’M A TRUSTWORTHY GUY!
I’LL PROMISE TO GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU NEED MOST IF YOU JUST HELP ME OUT!
I’M THE NICEST COOLEST BRAVEST STRONGEST BEST-DRESSED SMARTEST MOST CONFIDENT MOST BELIEVABLE MOST IMPORTANT MAN IN AMERICA!
I’M GONNA CHANGE EVERYTHING, AMERICA!
I’M LIKE SUPERMAN!
WHY ISN’T ANYONE LISTENING TO ME ANYMORE?
(I heard it come from somewhere deep in Romney’s “soul”…and Sarah Palin recently too)
DON’T YOU STILL BELIEVE IN ME, AMERICA?
SRSLY I DID THIS FOR YOU!
Do you SEE what I’m talking ABOUT?
Well maybe we just don’t care what MOST politicians have to say…or even most of the laws that are passed in our name.
Even tho our situation won’t improve significantly over the next 4 years, we can still celebrate the next Biggest Game to the Presidency, & something the People could do for themselves:
We LEGALIZED WEED in Colorado!
Passed a state constitutional amendment allowing possession of 1 oz.!
And 6 plants!
So we slapped hands & kissed the sky,
taking deep breaths of fresh smoke, from the 1st FREE WEED APPLE in US History*!
It’s a victory against the Noid,
a win against the Drug War-Lords,
a win for the Psychonautic Volk!
Now…when will they let all our friends out of jail that were locked up for no good reason…
Well, that’s all for now, I think.
You’re a great audience, for reading this far.
You’re listening to Jez3Prez say “Good Night, America…whoever it is you are!”
